What’s a wedding commune?

People contributing in different ways to make our special day come together. Please consider lending your time, talents, and/or resources, which will make our wedding a true coming together of the people we hold most dear. If you can, we encourage you to come out earlier in the week, to help us set up and prepare for the day.

See our Schedule page for more info on what we are planning!

We want your attendance, any way you can.

What’s important to us is that you are there for the ceremony and for some of the party.
We want to be surrounded by our loved ones on this day, and that means you. So whatever you can make work is what matters to us.

Here are three options:

Option One: Come out for the day:
It’s a beautiful two hour drive from San Diego. Bring a chair for every person in your party. Label it!

RSVP here!

Option Two: Stay in town, or in a nearby town.
The town of Borrego Springs is about seven miles away. Julian is 45 minutes away. Bring a chair for every person in your party. Label it!

RSVP here!

Option Three: Camp with us:

We will be camping at our site from January 5 to 13th. Join us for any of that time.

While you’re here, spend time with us and enjoy all that the area has to offer: hiking, off-roading, starry skies,
quiet mornings, camaraderie around the fire. Bring a chair for every person in your party. Label it!

No physical or monetary gifts, please.

We do not need gifts. As two fifty-ish folks who have acquired a lot of stuff over our lifetimes and who have recently come together to live under one roof, we really do not need anything. Like really. Like we can send stuff home with you with just how much stuff we already have. So please, no gifts.

Instead, please give the gift of your time, talents, or resources.

We cannot make this happen without help. Please visit the How to Help page and consider the many ways you can help us pull this off!

Where to stay.

If you want to join us at our camp site, it is free and has plenty of room for tents, RVs, or trailers. We will be setting up an outdoor kitchen and some bathrooms. If you want to stay in the town of Borrego Springs, it is just a short ten minute drive from our site. There are many options, including vintage RV rental, basic hotels and motels, and two swanky spas. For more info, please visit our Where to Stay page.

The weather.

It will likely be a perfect 70 degrees during the day, dipping into the 50s after sunset. If you choose to stay with us overnight, and we hope you will, the temps may drop into the 40s overnight. There is always the chance of high winds in the desert. Click here for historical weather info. Click here for current weather.

Eco-Friendly!

We want to be as kind to the desert, which means the least amount of plastic and trash as is possible. For more info, see the FAQs page.

Have questions?

Visit the FAQs page for your burning questions like, "What should I wear?" and "Can I bring kids?"

We hope to see you on our special day!

Jack and Syndee <3

This is not your conventional wedding.

We will not be getting married in a church or in a building. We will be outside, surrounded by the Anza-Borrego desert, with the Santa Rosa mountains as our backdrop.

We hope you will join us! Please RSVP by December 11!
