Questions?

  • What do you mean by "eco-friendly"?

    • Anza-Borrego Desert State Park requires that everything that goes into the park will also leave the park. We want to not only leave the desert in its pristine beauty, but we want to introduce as little plastic as possible, and we want to generate as little trash as possible. So we are planning a wedding town filled with upcycled materials, and we will supply bamboo plates and utensils, as well as aluminum cups enough for everyone. We encourage you to help us in this endeavor by simply reusing and recycling as much as you possibly can. Need more ideas? See the How to Help page, and let us know your thoughts or questions in the "Sign Up Here" section.

  • What should I wear?

    • Wear whatever you want to wear! Consider the following as you plan your attire: We will be in the desert in January. There is dirt. It is dry. It will be 70 degrees in the day time, but the temps drop when the sun goes down. There may be wind. Some folks will be dressed up, and others will be in jeans and flip flops. Wear what feels comfortable for you, and bring one layer up and one layer down. The bride and groom will look fabulous, for a while. Then they will be changing into jeans and hoodies.

  • Will there be bathrooms or do I have to pee in the bushes?

    • We are renting porta-potties, just for the party's use. We also have access to several RV bathrooms. These will be onsite all week. This is a California State park so nothing (yes even that) should be left behind.

  • Can I bring animals?

    • While we love our furry friends, we would prefer if they stayed at home. However, if that is a limiting factor for your attendance, we can work it out.

  • Do we have to stay the whole time?

    • Of course not, we would just like you there in any capacity. Whatever you can make work would be great. See the Schedule page and decide what works best for you.

  • What kind of vehicle do I need to bring?

    • Almost any car can make it to a parking area. Please see the directions page.

  • Can I rent an RV?

  • Is off-roading allowed?

    • Anza-Borrego Desert is a state park, so off-roading is not allowed. We must stay on marked roads. Some roads do require 4-wheel drive, which makes them fun and challenging. For more off-roading adventures, you can head over to nearby Ocotillo Wells, where rentals are available.

  • What's there to do?

    • There are a lot of areas to explore and hike. You can start here for information about the area. In town there are restaurants and spas at the hotels. In camp we will have games, campfires, and star gazing. See the Schedule page for more on the happy couple's plans.

  • What about booze?

    • We will have an outside bar onsite. If you would like to contribute alcohol or help serve, please let us know on the How to Help page.

  • What about non-alcoholic beverages?

    • Of course! We will have an outdoor kitchen area, which will have water, juice, sodas, etc. If you would like to contribute, please let us know on the How to Help page.

  • How can I support local businesses?

    • There are lots of ways! Consider buying food from local restaurants, buying firewood from the road-side vendor near our site, or renting from Borrego Springs rentals. Needs ideas? See the How to Help page, and let us know your thoughts or questions in the "Sign Up Here" section.

  • What's up with this website? Like, there are a lot of mistakes, and it just seems kind of wonky.

    • Lol, yep. Jack (the I.T. Guy) and Syn (the English professor) did this page on their own. It took about ten months. In that time, they had not only figure out the look and layout of the page, but they also had to give themselves a crash course in creating a website using this imperfect program. All of this in addition to their crazy work schedules. They're pretty happy with the finished product, and they know there are typos, broken links, and missing info. Got questions? See a broken link? Found a typo? Please see the How to Help page and let us know in the "Sign Up Here" section.
