Directions

Our site is just outside of Borrego Springs in the Anza-Borrego desert, with the Santa Rosa mountains as our backdrop. It is about a two hour drive from San Diego.

Options and Recommendations:

  • If you want to go through picturesque Julian, which is quite lovely this time of year, we recommend this route. Please note that this route is long, slow, and winding, but not terrifying. Syndee does not hate this route.

  • Another option that includes a short stint of, not-so-high-but-still-winding mountain roads, is this route on the Yaqui Pass. There are some brief but absolutely beautiful views on this road, but it's still a bit hairy for Syndee.

  • If you like long winding mountain roads with great views from heights that might make some folks uncomfortable, take this route on the famous Montezuma Valley Road. But be warned, this route has many tight switch backs and cliffs/drop-offs next to the road. Syndee does NOT like this route!

  • If you are sensitive to heights, follow the directions below. This route has the least amount of winding mountain roads. This is the route Syndee takes every time. It is also the best route for oversize vehicles.

  • From San Diego, take the 15 north, to Scripps Poway Parkway and go east.

  • Turn left at the 67, and follow that through Ramona to Santa Isabel.

  • Turn left at the 79 (Stop at Dudley's Bakery right there on the corner, if you want some darn good bread!).

  • Turn right at San Felipe Road. Follow San Felipe Road until it ends at the 78, then go left.

  • Stay on the 78 then turn left on Borrego Springs Road.

  • When you get to Christmas Circle, go into the circle, then take a right at Palm Canyon Road, which is the second exit. You will stay on this road for about 7 miles.

  • When you see the one-plane airport on your left, hit your odometer, and you will continue on this road for another 3.8 miles.

  • Not too long after the airport, the road will veer to the left, at which point it becomes Pegleg Road.

  • At the 3.8 mile point, you will see a large dirt clearing on your right.

  • That is going to be the corner of Pegleg and Henderson Canyon Road.

  • Pull into the dirt clearing, and drive straight back until you see a row of trees.

  • Turn right there and drive just past the two RVs that have quite obviously been here a while. We are just beyond that. Look for three RVs and some cars.

The wedding location

This is not a formal campground. It is a desert clearing off of Pegleg road. It is a short distance down a sandy dirt road, that most vehicles can navigate.

Turn right onto the dirt just BEFORE Henderson Canyon Rd.

Go straight back 500 feet and turn right once you reach the row of trees.

Continue 600 feet to the end of the row of trees. The road will widen out into a large clearing.

Wedding will be on the left of the large clearing, you will see the pop-ups and a gathering of people.
